Uncle Guebe Francois

April 11, 2010 ~
Dear Uncle Guebe passed away this month. It is a terrible loss for the Baha'i community and especially to our Cameroonian community. Some of us youth don't remember a time he wasn't there; he was like a father, and we will all miss him so dearly. His memory, his joyous laughter, will remain with us forever. He goes to join his dear wife, Auntie Therese, who passed away just last year [see picture below]. But as we look to the Words of Baha'u'llah, we feel a little consolation...
"Death proffereth unto every confident believer the cup that is life indeed. It bestoweth joy, and is the bearer of gladness. It conferreth the gift of everlasting life.
As to those that have tasted of the fruit of man's earthly existence, which is the recognition of the one true God, exalted be His glory, their life hereafter is such as We are unable to describe. The knowledge thereof is with God, alone, the Lord of all worlds."
-Baha'u'llah

Sound of Africa - 2010 - #1

April 3, 2010 - Sound of Africa

It was a blast. We had so much fun. It is a yearly event put together by the African Students Organization of the University of Arkansas, here in Fayetteville...and they always do a very good job. The event showcases the African culture, dance, food, music, and also raises money towards an initiative. This time it was for Accessible Education for the African Child. The ASO website also has pictures. Click here to view.

I mc'd with Dhaval. An Indian guy who spent several years of his life in Nigeria. We had a good time. Jayron also had fun. Aaron took most of the pictures. [See the next two blog entries as well. Thanks, sweetheart!]

Walk in the Mall

Mall...
Everyone associates the mall with something else...I know we all think shopping, but sometimes we think other things like a walk, icecream, movies. Ice-cream is what we had in mind when we set out for the mall this evening. Our mall has some really good icecream. So we went...It was a first for Jayron and he loved it. There was so much to see!

There's Gustaff posing with Jayron. Gustaff's been visiting us for a while and it's always great to have him and his beautiful drum. He's a talented drummer.

Jayron and High Chair

Jayron started using his high chair at about 7 months. He loves it, cuz he loves meal times. He's a good and happy eater... I guess like his mom and dad. We both love good food!:) Good habit to catch, Jayron, as long as you stick to the good and healthy things.:)

Jayron loves his banana...gosh, the child can eat banana...and his sweet potatoes, squash, sweet baby carrots, papaya, peaches, mangoes, sweat peas (not so much), avocado, almond milk. And he loves his milk!

Sampson's Visit

March 2010 ~

Aaron's brother, Sampson, is here from Cameroon. He stayed with us for a while before heading on to Dallas. It was an emotional reunion because Aaron hadn't seen him in several years.

Visit in March

March 19-21, 2010 ~

Ma Angeline and family, and Auntie JaneMary and her son, Fred, paid us a visit in Prairie Grove, AR. It was wonderful to have them, unfortunately, the snow didn't let us do much but stay indoors and eat and watch movies. Here Auntie Jane and Ma Angeline scrape the ice of their car before taking off Sunday.
