Another Snow Storm?

January 29, 2010 ~

That Friday, we had sleet and snow all day long starting the previous Thursday evening. Everyone prayed that power shouldn't go out, and we were fortunate it didn't. Schools were all cancelled. Everyone was worried about how bad it would get because we suffered a very bad ice storm last year.

The first picture is taken right outside our back door. The second picture is of the road and house right across from ours. I tried to take a picture of Jayron in the snow, but the daylight reflected off the white snow and made too strong a light for Jayron to bear. His eyes watered and his nose turned watery, so I gave up and quickly took him back inside. Today Friday makes it a week and the snow is still not gone.

Jayron is 6 Months old!!

January 30, 2010 ~

Yep, Jayron is a whole 1/2 year old!! Aaron and I were thinking, who has such a birthday? So funny! But yes, Jayron is growing fast! His bottom two teeth are almost through the gums; we can see a clear outline of them now. He's sitting up by himself just fine, putting everything he can into his mouth, laughing a lot (you have to catch him on guard to capture that on camera), and eating well. He's had a cold now for about 2 weeks and that has affected his appetite and sleep, but that aside he's doing great! As you can see below, he can now enjoy his duck tub. How many people do you know of who can munch on an octopus?? I say he is simply awesome!:)

Jayron's Friend, Yumbi.

January 2010 ~

Yumbi is Jayron's friend, and in our African culture, we say "brother". He is six weeks older and his mom, Adeline, and I are good friends. It was Adeline's birthday so we took Jayron along to spend time with Yumbi. Angelle is another friend of ours and she's carrying Jayron in that first picture. Both of them are also from Cameroon. [Notice Yumbi's cute astronaut outfit!] The pictures were taken in a room where the boys were spared all the loud African music and partying in the living room:)

Aaron takes a picture of me when we return home, and I'm all but ready.
