Jayron turned 4 months! Yep, we had chocolate cake to celebrate! As you can see, he loves to laugh. But you have to catch it quickly, else the blinking red light from the camera - as you prepare to take the shot - will have him staring mesmerized:)
This was Jayron's first Thanksgiving, and he loved it. You seee, as long as Jayron is carried, he will not cry. There were so many people at ma Kona's for Thanksgiving that Jayron was never put down. More so, he was fascinated by all the new faces. He never cried. And now he laughs a lot, so everyone just loved him. [Ofcourse that spoiling got me into trouble when we later returned to Arkansas and I needed to put Jayron down for a bit:)]
Jayron has visitors. Janice, Martin, Beverly and Joshua. It's amazing how much children like smaller children. I guess it makes them feel great that there is someone smaller than they are and they can take care of them for a change!:)
Birth of Baha'u'llah - It was a warm and beautiful ceremony at our Springdale Baha'i Center.
Our annual celebration of Taste of Africa was a blast! The Africans entertained some 500 guests who had come for a taste of African culture, food, dance, dress, and poetry. [There are 3 other entries with more pictures.] Click hereto see a beautiful slide show of the event. On the left is our able president of the African Student Organization, Michael. And on the right is Henry.

Our annual celebration of Taste of Africa was a huge success. Some 500 guests were present. They had come to enjoy the taste of African culture, food, dance, dress, and poetry that usually grace these occasions. And everyone ate to their fill. There was so much to eat - the menu was indeed vast. Most importantly, the participation on the part of the African friends made it all the more united, successful and enjoyable.
We had some friends over for Aaron's birthday. It falls on the Feast of Qudrat (Power)...lucky him! We decided to do a devotional/dinner that evening. There were 10 Africans who attended, as well as two of our Baha'i friends. Aaron chose gratitude and parent responsibility to children for our readings. Then we had lots to eat! It was fun. Jayron slept through most of it. Yumbi, my friend Adeline's 20-month old son, and 3-year old Brad, Angelle's son, were there though.
Jayron had an orange outfit for Halloween, gift from a co-worker of mine. It even had pumpkins on it!
First time Jayron actually wore shoes. It took a lot of wit to get him to stare at the camera for the shot. He was just fascinated by these things that were clutching at his feet.:)
My JY class is growing, I am so pleased. There were once about 12 on average but these included both JY's and youths. At the time the latter group didn't have a regular class of their own so they attended my class. Then the youth were moved to a study circle and that left only 4 JY's. Now my JY class is made up of 9 JY's, and that includes one non-Baha'i. We love class time. Here is a moment of "Simon says smile"!
As you can see, I can't quit taking pictures. You just want to capture every moment with this kid. At the expense of creating another blog soon, I'll surely have to learn to cut back though:)
Below, Jayron is working on his eye-hand coordination...and loving it.
